2008 HBC DESIGN
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

HBC is as vivid and vibrant as the landscapes we envision, and this is your opportunity to become a part of our dynamic team. HBC’ summer internship is a paid program where you will gain valuable hands-on experience while working with talented landscape architects, planners, and engineers. Our internship program allows you to apply classroom theories to the practice of planning and landscape architecture, in addition to working in a fun, creative and professional environment.

As an integral member of the project team, you will have opportunities to work on a full-range of projects including master planning, urban design, corporate site design, landscape architecture and environmental planning. You will also actively participate in conceptual designs, team workshops and client meetings, as well as construction observation. The internship program is available to all students returning for their senior year.

Goals: Our program is designed to reward both you and HBC equally. You will gain valuable working experience in the profession and at the same time, learn about the unique design environments that HBC has to offer.

In order to achieve these goals, you will:

□	Learn the inter-workings of an office environment;
□	Gain hands-on experience working with a variety of professionals in the fields of community planning, mixed-use design and landscape architecture;
□	Attend meetings and learn to interact with clients and design professionals;
□	Have the opportunity to explore projects HBC has built in the area.

7-Month Internship Program (Bolivia, NC):
If you are interested in our 7 month internship program it runs from January to August, 2009. This experience will give you the opportunity to become more deeply involved in some of our best projects and experience a variety of activities that HBC has to offer.

3-Month Summer Internship Program (Bolivia or Harrisburg):
If you are interested in our summer internship program it runs from mid-May to August 2008. Summer Intern positions are available in our Bolivia or Harrisburg offices.

If you are interested in either of these internships please submit the following:

□	Letter of Interest (please indicate which program you are applying towards).
□	Your current resume (including your year in school and the program in which you study).
□	2-4 examples of your best landscape architecture and/or planning work. Show plans, sections, sketches, etc. that best describe the project and your abilities.
□	2 references that are familiar with your professional training. Include names, phone numbers and titles of your chosen references.
□	A sketch of a horse!
