Michael Turner, ASLA, LEED - AP
  Landscape Archetect

Michael is a Landscape Architect currently registered in Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.  He received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Iowa State University.  Mike has a strong background in computer graphics, the use of native plants in landscape and commercial playground design, and incorporating water features into projects.

Michael previously worked as a Senior Landscape Architect with a local planning and engineering firm in Charlotte, NC and has owned his own company providing landscape architectural and design/build services for over 10 years in the Kansas City, MO area. He has worked on projects ranging from children’s playgrounds to public walking trails to the first Low Impact Residential Development(LID) project in the Kansas City area.

Michael also had one of his Kansas City projects highlighted in the March edition of the 2004 Kansas City Homes & Gardens magazine. The article featured a residential project that he designed and installed. The project included a two level water garden, retaining walls, brick paver patio, screened-in gazebo, and a three level deck with pattern inlays and custom railings.

Quote: “My favorite part of landscape architecture is creating natural water features, as they are the only elements in landscape architecture to incorporate all the senses. You can spend thousands of dollars on beautiful plants around any project, but the minute you add a water feature – you are immediately drawn to it.”
