Our History

HBC has been a forerunner in the field of Landscape Architecture and Land Planning since 1975 when Henry and Heather Burkert began their company in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Their company grew successfully and in 1979 they relocated to Wilmington, NC where they became leaders in the profession. HBC added Civil Engineering to the firm’s services and is now practicing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Latin America.
